What is Healthy Starts for Families and the Family Health Study?

Healthy Starts for Families is an initiative to improve nutrition, fitness, sleep and hydration with a bit of fun. And it’s not just for kids, but for adults too.

The Family Health Study is one way we support you to improve your nutrition and track the health changes of thousands of families. When you sign up to participate, an important child in your life will receive Juice Plus+ capsules or chewables - free of charge - for up to four years as a study participant.*

What Products Can the Adult Purchase to Enrol for Healthy Starts for Families?

Adults must have a reoccurring purchase of one of the following options:

a)    Fruit & Vegetable Capsules; OR
b)    Fruit & Vegetable Chewables; OR
c)    Premium Capsules; OR
d)    A bundle with one of the above products.

What are the Qualifications to Enrol?

Adults who play an active role in a child’s life can co-sponsor a child. The adult can be a parent, grandparent, aunty, uncle, or even a best friend next door and must be purchasing a reoccurring eligible product. Children must be between the ages of 4 years and 18 years of age. Participants must not have been a part of the Family Health Study prior to their enrolment. The sponsoring adult and child must make a one-year commitment and can be part of the program for up to four years. Full terms apply.

What Dosage Should My Child Take?



4 – 12 years

1 Fruit and 1 Vegetable Capsule

2 Fruit and 2 Vegetable Soft Chews

Adult supervision required under the age of 6.


13 – 18 years

2 Fruit and 2 Vegetable Capsules

4 Fruit and 4 Vegetable Soft Chews


The adult participant can also choose to receive Capsules or Soft Chews and the child 4 years of age to 18 years has the choice of Capsules or Soft Chews.

When the Child Turns 13, Will They Automatically Receive The ‘Adult’ Dosage?

Yes. The next delivery will see the child receive the adult dose (double the child’s dose). A letter is sent with the product to inform the adult participant of the change to the child’s dosage.

My Order Was Cancelled; Can I Reset It?

This is handled on a case-by-case basis. We understand that sometimes there are situations beyond the customer’s control. However, if the order is cancelled any longer than 60 days (without previous hold of exceeded time), the order cannot be reinstated until a minimum of twelve months have passed since your last order cycle ended.

Can My Order Be Reset?

We allow one reset only and they may not be off the product any longer than 4 months per calendar year as this breaches the study terms.


What Happens After 4-Years/12 Shipments On The Healthy Starts For Families Program?

Following completion of your four-year Healthy Starts for Families period, your account will automatically add the charge of the products for all future deliveries. We will notify you in writing with the final HSF order prior to this change occurring. This will leave you with four months to remove the child products from your ongoing order if you wish to do so.

How Many Times Can I Register for The Healthy Starts for Families Program?

An adult and participating child can only have one Healthy Starts for Families account. If you have more than one child, additional HSF orders must be placed under another family member as the participating adult. Juice Plus+ will contact you if any additional orders are found to determine whether we can amend the participants name or whether the order will be cancelled due to a breach of the study terms.

What Should I Do If I Have an Oversupply?

If you have an oversupply, you may delay your next shipment by a maximum of four-months per calendar year (this does not have to be all at once; it could be two months earlier in the year and two months later in the year). If you require any further delays, we will have to cancel you out of the study as the product is not being taken in accordance with the study guidelines.


If the child doesn’t like their Capsules or Chewables, we can amend the product for all future deliveries. Please contact the Juice Plus+ Head Office to request this change. Similarly, the adult can change their product at any time to another HSF eligible product.


Can I Receive Money Back for My Product If I Cancel?

Please refer to our Returns Policy. We must receive the full order back (including the complementary children’s product) into our warehouse. The Juice Plus+ Company Australia does not accept partial returns for credit.


If you want to return your HSF order, you must return both the adult’s product and the child’s product (unopened as four-month supply) to receive a full refund. If only the adult’s product is returned, you will be charged for the child’s product in full.

Family Health Study Terms & Conditions

To be eligible for the Family Health Study, the following criteria must be met:

1.1.  Sponsors must:

1.1.1. Be over the age of 18

1.1.2. Play an active role in a child's life (as a relative, mentor or godparent)

1.1.3. Have a reoccurring purchase of a Family Health Study eligible product (see 2.1.).

1.2.  Children must:

1.2.1. Be between the ages of 4 and 18. 

1.3.  Both parties must have never participated in the Family Health Study before.



2.1.  Adult sponsors must have a reoccurring order of one of the following products for the duration of the study:

2.1.1. Fruit and Vegetable Capsules; OR

2.1.2. Fruit and Vegetable Chewables (Adult); OR

2.1.3. Premium Capsules; OR

2.1.4. A bundle with one of the above products.

2.2.  Children have a choice to receive free:

2.2.1. Fruit and Vegetable Capsules; OR

2.2.2. Fruit and Vegetable Chewables.

2.3.  Adult sponsors and children may change their product during the study to another eligible Family Health Study product by contacting the Juice Plus+ Head Office.

2.4.  Adult supervision must be provided for children under the age of 6.

2.5.  Participants are responsible for reading the label and using only as directed.



3.1.  The child’s product will be supplied to the same address as the adult sponsor.

3.2.  Each participant must take the recommended dosage of Juice Plus+ products.

3.3.  Periodic surveys must be completed.

3.4.  Participants may not on-sell the complementary child’s product.

3.5.  Returns: You must follow the Juice Plus+ Returns Policy and return both the adult and child product to receive a full refund. If only the adult’s product is returned, you will be charged for the child’s product in full.

3.6.  Cancellation: You may cancel your Family Health Study order any time after the minimum duration (see 4.1).

3.6.1. If you are on an instalment plan, all payments from your current cycle must be made before cancellation can be finalised.

3.6.2. If you cancel the order, you have forfeited the right to re-enter the study unless you meet the criteria to reinstate (see 3.7.).

3.7.   Reinstating Orders: To reinstate a Family Health Study order, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

3.7.1. 1 year has passed since your last order cycle ended; OR

3.7.2. You had a maximum of 2 shipments on your order.

If you meet one of the criteria, please contact the Juice Plus+ Head Office to reinstate. Note that new Family Health Study orders placed online will be cancelled.

3.8.  Delays: You may delay your next shipment by a maximum of 4 months per calendar year.



4.1.  When agreeing to the Family Health Study, you must participate for a minimum of 1 year (3 shipments). You may participate for a maximum of 4 years (12 shipments).

4.2.  Participants will receive notification that their study participation period is coming to an end before their 12th shipment. Should a participant’s contact details change, it is their responsibility to notify us.

4.3.  After 12 shipments, a participant’s account will automatically be charged for all future deliveries of the child’s products. If you wish to delete the child product after your study period has ended, please contact the Juice Plus+ Head Office prior  to your 12th shipment being dispatched.

5.     COST

5.1.  The child’s product is free of charge if all terms are met.

5.2.  Freight is an additional cost to be covered by the adult sponsor payable upon each shipment.

5.2.1. Australian freight: Up to $11.00 per shipment

5.2.2. New Zealand freight: $11.50 per shipment



6.1.  By participating in the Family Health Study, you are accepting that you will be bound by these Terms.

6.2.  If you are found to be breaching the study terms, Juice Plus+ has the right to charge the full cost of the child’s products dispatched to you and you will not be eligible to re-enter the study at any time.

6.3.  We may change these Terms at any time so you should check this page regularly for any changes. Changes will apply from the date that they are published on this page.

6.4.  We recommend you print or save a copy of these Terms for future reference.
